The agreement comprises cooperation in industry, trade, investments, tourism, logistics and related sectors.
EU Affairs Ministers agreed that the EU had no exclusive jurisdiction on issues concerning the bloc’s fundamental values.
“Brussels is pro-war and isn’t building Europe’s peace, but war. That’s why we say that change is needed in Brussels,” Tamás Menczer said.
Twenty years ago, EU membership came with the promise of greater prosperity.
“Twenty years ago today, our family was finally united in a common home. Hungary has always been at the heart of Europe,” Ursula von der Leyen said.
The leaders will discuss bilateral political and economic issues as well as international affairs.
The foreign minister said Hungary will be taking over the rotating presidency of the European Union in a period fraught with dangers such as the migration pressure faced by the continent.
Since the start of the migration crisis in 2015, Hungary has spent 700 billion forints (EUR 1.8bn) on border protection, while EU contributions have barely surpassed 1%.
Hungary today is the only country in Europe calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and peace talks regarding the war in Ukraine.
János Bóka said on Facebook that he had discussed the Hungarian presidency’s priorities and related ECA reports with ECA chief Tony Murphy.
The prime minister said that Fidesz’s Budapest operations, alongside the central government, must strive to get the most out of the nation’s capital.
Minister Szijjártó said the government will carry on protecting the country’s sovereignty despite being “constantly under siege” and on the receiving end of constant attacks.
